39th Annual Antiques Fair 2016

PRESS RELEASE: – The opening day of this annual event saw the car park full to bursting, the dealers enjoying brisk trade and the restaurant and shop buzzing with activity.

In spite of unsettled weather conditions over the weekend, many wonderful, high quality antiques exchanged hands whilst visitors also took the opportunity to celebrate Mothering Sunday with their families.

Lord and Lady Pembroke were delighted to present Catherine Hunt Oriental Antiques (cloisters, stand C18) with the award for the Best Dressed Stand.

This is an independent, vetted, dateline fair which is organised in-house and has an excellent reputation.

The stands are located in two areas:  the Cloisters in the House, and the Old Riding School.  Both areas have a wide variety of stands and the dealers are always happy to discuss pieces with buyers and browsers, experienced collectors and novices alike.

Many standholders are members of BADA or LAPADA.  Vetting ensures that buyers may be confident that the pieces are genuine, of high quality and accurately described.

46 top-class dealers, including thirteen new standholders, will be offering a variety of fine, country and early C20th furniture, Oriental and European porcelain, rugs and textiles, antique glass, superb silver, jewellery, clocks and bronzes, rare books, high quality oil paintings, watercolours, prints, maps and engravings, as well as a broad range of decorative, period collectables.

With something for everyone, you will be sure to find the perfect piece to invest in, treat someone to or just simply indulge yourself with.

The Wilton House Restaurant will be open daily throughout the Fair, serving coffee, light lunches and teas, and the Gift Shop will also be open for cards, gifts and membership enquiries.

The 2016 Fair catalogue with full information and contact details for the standholders is now downloadable. (see tab top right).
